DISCOVER HORTON PLAINS — THE END OF THE WORLD VIEWPOINT

About Horton Plains

Horton Plains National Park is a windswept plateau in Sri Lanka’s central highlands, famed for cloud forests, montane grasslands, and dramatic cliff edges. A UNESCO World Heritage landscape, it shelters rare species such as the Sri Lankan sambar deer and many endemic birds. The park’s signature trek leads to World’s End — a near-vertical escarpment that plunges 870 meters into the lowlands — and to the misty cascade of Baker’s Falls. With cool air, open horizons, and quiet trails, Horton Plains is ideal for nature lovers, hikers, photographers, and families seeking a gentle but unforgettable day hike.
